Tam Ngoc Tran died on May 16th in a car accident. She was a doctoral student in American Civilization at Brown University. I applied for my EAD and AP extension on AUG 17 2009 and my EAD was expiring on AUG 29th 2009. While my wifes EAD and AP got approved, I had an RFE as I had not sent the recent photographs so I sent that and the receipt date for that was OCT 9 2009.
I continued working and got paid, after speaking to friends I realized, getting paid on a Expired EAD is not right.
I have taken a infopass to discuss this with USCIS to get an update.
One more point I wanted to make was that my payroll company doesn't know about this and doesn't care. But if I bring it up then .they might immediately terminate my employment.
How do I fix this? Please suggest.

I am on H1 (primary), currently working for this company for past 6-7 years. Applied for I-485, AP, EAD on 2nd July along with my husband's petition, who came to US on H4. Changed to F1 for past 5 years. He just got his EAD card and in next 6 months time, he will be accepting position with my same company upon graduation.
My question is what shd we do now, since he is on F1 on student records, but has a EAD approved.
Possibilities :-
1) Shd he call his student dept and get records changed from F1 to EAD holder?
2) Shd he continue as F1 and not worry about EAD for now?
3) Shd he accept the pjob offer on EAD and move on from there?
4) Can I continue to be on H1 and not use up EAD for now?
Pls. advise me our further course of action, which is legally correct.

California taxpayers need to cover higher fees of private lawyers, who are hired by the state as the Attorney General's Office doesn't have the staff to handle all of the cases internally. In some instances, the state has employed outside counsel at hourly rates that reach $450 even while most of its in-house lawyers earn less than half that. Rates can be much higher, if the suits require private attorneys having a particular expertise.
Since January 2008, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has signed about $24 million in contracts with private lawyers hired because the Attorney General's Office says it's too shorthanded to take the jobs. The corrections department is seeking the additional help despite having about 80 lawyers of its own to handle a gamut of cases, with about a dozen of those assigned to prisoner-filed litigation.

Obviously, the prospects for major immigration reform legislation are being dealt a blow this evening. But it looks like the lord of the anti-immigrants - Tom Tancredo - is going down to defeat in the Colorado governor's race. Marco Rubio seemed to push an Arizona-like law for Florida in the election campaign, but his speech this evening was all about the immigrant dream. I didnot receive my EAD yet, the online status says that Approval notice was mailed on Oct. 1st.
I would like to know if anyone is facing the same issue.

It would be good to get more democrats to sponsor these bills rathar just have them give lip service to our cause since they have the majority.

Dear Attorney,
i would like to join a very good opportunity on EAD but have one concern shown below.
"a person has a valid ead/ap and he is gone outside the country for some work purpose and uscis denies his 485 in an illegal way like for eg: (denying AOS applications that have been pending more than 180 days when an employer revokes an I-140). how will he enter USA then ??
can he file MTR when he is outside the US with the help of a lawyer ?"
Your advice will help me alot and would be really appreciated!!!!

Guys,
My company is forcing everyone to fill I9 form. I have EAD but maintaining H1 status and did not use EAD. I did some research on I9 and it is no where mentioned that only people with EAD has to fill this. I need Guru's opinion on this.
I just don't want to loose my H1 status in any case.
